Little brown sweater

Top: Forever 21
Sweater: Gabriel Brother's
Jeans: AE
Boots: Madden Girl (DSW)

I fell in love with this sweater vest last week & it HAD to come home with me.  Along with about 3 other brown sweaters that I have purchased on my last 2 shopping trips.  But really, how can you go wrong with brown?  And all of them are different.  Excuses I know, but I skipped a whole season of shopping & now there are cute sweaters everywhere!  I just couldn't resist.

I went consignment shopping yesterday afternoon to buy the kiddos some winter clothes.  I ended up finding stuff for everyone and only spent $24!  I bought myself a black sweater dress.  I was going to wear it today, but this brown sweater was calling my name this morning!  One of the buttons had fallen off earlier this week when I was orginally going to wear it & I sewed it back on last night.  So I couldn't wait any longer :)  I love it & can't wait to remix!

Wow 2 posts in one day...

Pinterest

I'm sort of a last starter to Pinterest, but I am offically addicted.  The best part is that I'm not only feeling inspired, but I'm actually doing projects.  The past couple weekends, I've done at least 1 Pinterest inspired project!  I haven't cooked any of the recipes, but I'm pretty sure that's just a matter of time... Time meaning, I need to go grocery shopping!

Here are a couple of my completed projects.  Both of them happen to be for my fireplace.  (and they were taken with my phone, so they aren't the best quality... I just wanted to share!)

This was a free project, because I already had these frames in storage.  Then I used scrapbook paper to spell out our last name.  The inspiration had the seasons spelled out, but I wanted to be able to leave it up longer.  I was going to paint the frames all the same color, but the mix worked out better.  I'll save the paint for when they need to be revamped!

I always buy tons of pumpkins & gourds in the fall, because they are cheap decorations and I get different ones each year.  The gourds usually just end up in a bowl on the table, but this year they filled my non-working fire place!  I usually just keep logs & candles in there.  I wished I would have bought more pumpkins, but I was being a picky pumpkin picker this year!

These aren't my only projects, but the ones that I just happened to have pictures of on my cell phone!  I also made my halloween costume too, but I'm saving that for next week!

Gray or Grey?

Top: Loft
Jeggings: Jones New York
Scarf: Apt 9 (Kohl's)
Boots: DSW
Bracelet: from Mom

I originally wasn't going to blog this outfit, because I thought all the gray & black was sort of blah.  But as the day went on, the outfit seemed to inspire confidence & a certain amount of sexiness.  Maybe it was the light zebra print on the jeggings or it is wearing my favorite OTK boots for the 2nd time of the season... I'm really not 100% sure, but I really had to share.

By the way, my hair is getting SUPER long & I'm really digging the loose curls.  I've watched a couple hair tutorials, but braiding it before bed & touching it up with a curling iron in the morning seems to work the best for me!

Take me home, Country roads

Hi blogger world!  I've been hiding for a while, but Sherry inspired me today & I thought I'd say hi.  Plus I went shopping this weekend after a several month hiatis.  Over the weekend we went to West Virginia to visit hubby's family.  It was a long overdue visit & we had a wonderful time.  Especially the shopping part!  My mother in law took me to the Coldwater Creek Clearance store and I came away empty handed.  Even though I love shopping at stores like the Loft, the Coldwater Creek clothes weren't really speaking to me.  I guess I'm not as "grown up" as I thought!

The next day, KB & I ventured out on our own to Gabriel Brother's.  I LOVE Gabe's!  We spent over 2 hours in there.  I about died when they had J Brand Jeans for $20!!!!  but unfortunately I couldn't find any of them to fit, but I did find a pair of Jones New York jeggings for $7 that were perfect!  It's been about 3 years since I'd been to a Gabe's & I made up for it!  I found this purse for $20 and even though it's a little on the big size for me, I really love the boxiness of it.  Now I have to make sure I don't over weight it, just because I have the room.

On Saturday, I met up with a friend from elementary school that was randomly working in Columbus.  We met half way in Athens, OH to have lunch & catch up.  Athens is a super cute little college hipster town.  We had a great lunch at Bodega, walked around downtown, browsed some hippie shops, and spent the afternoon upstairs at Donkey Coffee playing "Would You Rather"!  I'm not sure if it was the fall weather or all the fall colors, but Athen's sure put a little spell on me.  I was a slacker & didn't pull out my camera... I think maybe because I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to capture it just right.

Hopefully this won't be my last post for a while... I've really missed you guys.  Plus I want to show off some of my pinterest projects!!!  I might not have been shopping the past few months, but I've kept busy!
