2011 here we come

Shirt: JCPenny
Tshirt & Jeans: Gap
Boots: Madden Girl (DSW)
Belt: Thrifted
Sunglasses: Old Navy

Yeah for outside pictures!!!  Short day at work. After cooking, eating, major headache & socializing with coworkers, I was home before 2pm.  Hubby was off today, so he was ready with the camera when I got home!!!  My car said it was 66 degrees on my way home... Wow, we had snow last weekend & now it's beautiful outside - just VERY windy!  We have all the windows open in the house & my kitties are very excited.

Like I said yesterday, we had a tradional Southern New Years meal at work today.  So I thought my outfit should coordinate.  Mom my used to wear chambray shirts when I was a kid & I used to think they looked terrible!!!  I guess the joke is on me... Once I saw that were popular again, I saw them in a different light & was immediately on the search for one.  I found this one while doing Christmas shopping on the clearance rack for $7!  I've been very happy with my purchase.  I orginally wanted to wear it with a skirt, but I'm still not feeling the best, so I opted for my comfort clothes: Jeans :)

Back in November, me & my hubby took a quick trip to NYC to visit one of my long time friends Elizabeth.  We've been friends since elementary school.  We had a blast exploring the city (my 1st time as an adult).  I've added a pic of us in Times Square.  It was crazy then; I can't imagine the craziness that will be there tonight to watch the ball drop!  Hope everyone has a safe & Happy New Years...

I'm going down, down...

Cardigan: The Loft (new w/ xmas gift card)
Top: JCPenny
Jeans: American Eagle
Belt: Thrifted
Flats: Two Lips (DSW)

It has been a loooong day! I think I'm getting a cold or allergies or something NOT fun!  Thank goodness I picked this outfit last night or who knows what I'd be wearing!  Honestly, I love to play dress up in my closet at night (while hubby is hogging the tv playing Black Ops).  I seem to have more creativity then, because even with the best intension, I am always running late in the mornings & I just run out of time.  This is also the reason my pics have been inside; it's too dark by the time I get home & my hubby runs even later than me in the mornings.

With this outfit, I'm mixing animal prints!  You can't really tell in the picture, but my flats & belt are snake print.  Such a rule breaker!  HA! Not really, but I really like the brown w/ the gray zebra sweater.  It works for me!

The flats ended up being very practical today at work.  We have been super slow at work this week since most manufacturing plants are on shut down for the holidays.  So instead of sitting around doing nothing, this afternoon I was in the kitchen helping prep for this HUGE New Years lunch we are having tomorrow.  We are having beans, mexican cornbread, collard greens, cabbage, ham, black eye peas.  These are all part of a traditional Southern New Years dinner.  My boss is all about history & traditions.  I probably won't eat any of it other than potatoes, but I appreciate the effort.  Plus we'll just basically goof off all day & start my weekend early (hopefully without a cold) :)

There's a first time for everything

Cardigan, T-shirt & Jeggings: the Loft
Boots: Madden Girl (DSW)
Scarf: Christmas Gift from Inlaws
Braclet: Christmas Gift from Bestie

After months of keeping up with many fashion blogs, I've decided to trek into the unknown... I created a blog!!!  I've been inspired by many blogs & a bestie that just started fashion blogging herself.  My husband is very supportive.  Hey, I'm the one who bought him a fancy camera a couple of years ago & I've probably taken the most pictures with it.  Now he can polish his skills every afternoon!  I can't wait to start interacting with my fellow bloggers!!!
